Lives of Extraordinary Women: Rulers, Rebels (and What the Neighbors Thought)

SarahKate's Notes:

Even though this book is mostly text, it was fascinating to my 8 year old and we read selections from it daily, sometimes over and over.

Fairy Tales for the New Age

SarahKate's Notes:

In my opinion this is one of the finest collections of fairy tales
I've read. They aren't syrupy and super-positive. They are gentle,
original stories of children overcoming their fears, learning powerful
lessons, and meeting magical spirits. We savor this book and I read
the a story from it every few weeks and it is a real treat the whole
family enjoys.
